Hi, I'm after a good pc case,I expect to spend about £100 in total for it but I want a quiet case and one with good air flow. My DVD drives are also beige so a case with a door would be better. I was looking at the Antec P180 but because it doesnt have a PSU its going to be around £130...any ideas?

Thanks

You'd be better off starting with a motherboard ... you don't actually need a case. ;)

Hi, I am buyingan ,Athlon 64 X2 6000 + Asus M2N-E SLI + 2gb Corsair DDR2. The case I have now is really bad and is noisy and well...just crap so I really need one.
Thanks

I should think that most people would agree the best air fan available is probably the Zalman CNPS9700

Though it is massive, so if space is an issue, the smaller CNPS9500 is also excellent.

The best air cooler has to be the Tuniq Tower 120 (I nearly got one of these for my new rig, and may still do later.) but it is a big bast*rd The Scythe ninja is a close second performance wise, also a beast. The ones PG mentioned are close on their heels thouugh, and not massive buggers. :)

Dont apologise mate, your comment is precisely the reason why i didn't get it in the end. Thats imo for serious ocers or quad cores.

Just remembered Adys got one on his QX67 aint he look...

EDIT, aint the black top cover on the wrong way round? (Not that it matters.)

Tynesider:

Ok, I'll get into serious mode.

We'd all of us here be really pleased if you bought some good stuff.

You'll find that most of us will give impartial advice on knowledge gleaned and experience learnt.

So ask away, we'll do our best.

And I'm from Greenwich, SE London.

I do like Newcastle though.

Whenever I've stayed at the Station Hotel in central Newcastle, the ladies have always been most accomodating.

Superb.

Excellent memories.

And then there's been the Geordies I've worked with pipelining.

Landrover and acres of wet mud.

Geordies and me and lots more like me.

All English.

Priceless memories.

oops, wandered off a bit there.

Now WTF were you asking about again? :D

Floppybootstomp! where did you get that from?

The Station Hotel! you must be well off mate, bet you liked the night life here, and all the girls in short skirts even when its winter...I'm nearly 50 but no harm in looking!

Anyway, I'm going for the CoolerMaster Centurion 534, but now I need a PSU. I havent a clue what top get but I know my drives arnt Sata...well at least i dont think so, so I need something thats going to be ok with IDE drives.
My setup will hopefully be
AMD Athlon 64X2 6000
Asus M2N-E SLI
2 Gig Coursair 5400 memory
2x DVD Rom
2x H/D 1 350gig one 80gig
Radeon 9550

So if you could point me in the right direction mate that would be good, I hope spend about £50 for one.

Cheers
Tynesider

Taking into account your budget and wattage requirements, I'd say this is your best bet, the Tagan 480W for around £56.00:

Tagan 480W

Here's OCUK's own brand which I don't know anything about at all but it may be worth taking a chance on. I wouldn't go for it myself though. 550W for £45.00

OCUK

And this Zalman 460W at around £56.00 is worth considering.

Bear in mind that postage from that particular supplier is around £8.00.

All the models I would have recommended are out of your budget range, most are about £75.00.

However, you don't have high wattage requirements so I think the Tagan 480W would be fine.
