I have a client that has deleted a folder in Outlook Express ...whgen I go to
identities...I see the folder there ....

Is there a way to recover the folder in either Outlook or Outlook express.

If they deleted the folder inside of Outlook Express then yes you should be
able to recover the folder.
First you need to locate the "Store Folder" location:
1. Open Outlook Express and go to Tools ->Options.
2. Then select the Maintenance tab and click on the Store Folder button.
3. Write down the entire path listed (to scroll over click on the path and
use the arrow keys to scroll to see the rest of the path).

Now you need to make sure you are showing hidden files and folders using
the steps below:
1. Open My Computer.
2. Go to Tools->Folder Options. (May be different depending on your
operating system).
3. Select the View tab.
4. Select "Show hidden files and folders" and uncheck "Hide extensions for
known file types".

Now we need to go to the location listed in the path above.
1. Once at that location see if there is a file with the same name as the
deleted folder. (it will have .dbx extension)
2. If the file is present then rename the folders.dbx file to folders.old.

Close My Computer and open Outlook Express. The folder should now be
visible in the folder list.
