Linda

I hope someone can help me out there - I am NOT very
computer literate - I know - groan, groan. Anyway, I
have contacted my server about this problem and no longer
have support from Gateway where computer was purchased and
program included - when I am doing research on the
computer, I constantly get a message from iexplore -
stated this program has performed an illegal operation and
will be shut down..............I have gone in a repaired
internet explorer several times - it keeps happening and
kicking me off my computer in the middle of my research.
Is there anyone out there who can suggest what can be
done? Thanks for any help.

Linda,
The first step to resolve your problem:
How to Disable Third-Party Tool Bands and Browser Helper Objects

If this allows IE to start, see:

Don't forget to re-enable the BHO option (if used)

I and many people I'm in contact with around the world have
been having this problem for the past few weeks - we think
since that last major critical update that they mailed
everybody about.
I contacted them about it and their response was to direct
me here!!
The crashes are most frustrating, unexpected and generally
really bloody inconvenient.
I've now set Mozilla Firefox as my default browser. Sod 'em.
