I cannot send messages from my computer thru a site.
I get an error of : The host 'http' could not be found. Please verify that
you have entered the server name correctly.
Subject 'Emailing: WILL-SANDI', Account: 'http', Server: 'http', Protocol:
SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number:
0x800CCC0D

Do not know how to change the settings so I can get a message thru to anyone
..

It seems that your message is being allowed.
Every time I try to send any message I keep getting "the host 'http' could
not be found.

Please help!!!!!

Thanks ,
sandi

I responded to your other thread "Can't send mail".
Please, post only one thread per issue.

Your (e-mail address removed) account is anywhere close to being set-up correctly in
Windows Mail, Sandi.

Are you a Hotmail Plus or MSN Premium subscriber? Did MSN tell you that
you'd be able to access the account via POP3?

I cannot send from the "reply" button in Windows Mail, BUT can send thru the
"Reply Group" button.
I just noticed this ==AFTER I posted the response about : needing to change
the setting TO::: POP3, don't know if that is important or not????

You have to click on "Reply to Group" to post here.

Could you please back up for a moment, and:
1. Tell us what type of email account you're trying to set up.

2. If it's MSN/Hotmail/Live, are you paying for the Plus account, or using
the free account?
Windows Mail cannot access any http (webmail) account.
The newer Windows Live Mail can access the free Hotmail/Live accounts.

If not, you will not be able to access the account in Windows Mail via POP3,
WebDAV or DeltaSync.

Thanks Dave,
I now have, free, msn and yahoo, and they are working good.
What does sending an e-mail from a website have to do with my personal
email??
This is a new computer. The 1st time I went to send an email "FROM" a
webpage's direct link...... an option box appeared......The choises were
http. pop3 and 1m more thing.......I chose http.....wrong choice.
I feel if there was any ooption to begin with,,,,, there should be a place
for me to go and change the 'http' setting choice to 'POP3'?????
