Help! xp home edition folder problem!

Ok, there is a folder in my hard drive in which I need to erase but I keep
getting an 'access is denied' message. I need to erase this folder because it
contains 10 gigs of memory which is crowding my drive and causing problems.
When I roll over the folder it says it contains 0 items with 0 bytes of
memory which is false because I ran the program treesize pro which revealed
that this folder has a bunch of stuff in it that I have saved elsewhere on a
completely different drive. I tried the troubleshoot options on the microsoft
website with folder options and could not resolve the problem. Can anyone
help?

a chkdsk may help

a registry cleaner that removes
0 byte files and folders might help,
like systemmechanic...

First off, what's the name of the folder you're trying to
access?
Is this a folder you created or is it a system folder?
If it's a system folder, post back with the name of the folder.
Include the complete path.

If it's a folder you created, try the following:

Restart the computer in Safe Mode.
To start in Safe Mode, reboot your computer and
start tapping the F8 key as soon as you see anything displayed
on the screen. Keep hitting F8 until the Advanced Startup
Options menu appears. Use the up and down arrow keys on your
keyboard to select Safe Mode. Hit Enter.

Make sure you logon with an account that is a Computer
Administrator.
Right click the folder in question and select Properties from
the menu.
Click on the Security tab.
Make sure your account and the Administrators group have Full
Control permissions to this folder. If not, add them.

If you are unable to give your account Full Control permissions
you'll have to take ownership of the folder. Take a look here
for how that's done,

How to take ownership of a file or folder in Windows XP

Good luck
