Good day.

Thanks for reading this post. I really wish U could help.

I installed one of my HDD's in my girlfriend's computer to copy some mp3's
and work related doc's over for backup from my work. The Pc worked fine.

Then I removed it to take back to my work after about a day or 2. Then the
compter dit not whant to startup. At the startup screen where the blue blocks
are showing U the progress of the startup it just hangs. It first goes a
little bit slower and then hangs. Ive tryed everything I can think of. All
the modes hang including just plain dos mode. I tryed to restore the systems
files with the restore application on the CD. I've tryed to install a second
Windows patrition on one of the other drives to see if it wil go into windows
that way, but nothing. The new windows also hangs on startup @ the same
screen after the installation process went through fine. I can not under
stand it.

If it was a hardware error the disc would not even have booted up, but it
boots up fine. I cheded all the cables, but they are in tight. I'm stating to
think the computer has something against me. I even left the computer over
night to see if it would "un-hang", but no!!!..

Please help!!!

Thanks

did you put the HDD back in exactly the way it was when you removed it?
Did you change jumper settings when you put in other computer?
did you restore the jumper settings?

is this hdd a master or slave?

If it was something this simple, all your other efforts may have hurt!!

Hi there, Thanks for the reply.

I did replace the HDD with exatly the same settings as before. The one on
wich XP does not work is the master, and my HDD was a slave. Did not mess
with any jumper settings just to make sure all stays the same. Usually I'm
real good with this kind of thing. Have U ever seen a big man cry over
something like this?... :(
