Help with updates

Tony

Hi
One of my group has just bought a new computer with Windows XP Home on
it. As she only has 56k dial up connection it is a lot to expect her
to download the very large updates. As I have broadband is there a way
that I can download the updates so that I can then copy them to a CD
and install them from there.
TIA

Locate your updates and take the "network install" version. Simply download
and burn to CD. The CD can then be opened in the second PC and just double
click the icon to install. Start with SP1 then the "rollup". That will take
care of *most* of the critical updates. The others can be installed in any
order.

You can find the rest with a search, or use Wupdates on the second machine.
Run updates anyway to make sure you have everything.

When the first link was first posted, there was no provision for consumers
in UK in the registration entry form. This was still absent last night,
Feb19, but registration could be entered in the second link through MS
Passport. A minute ago I checked again the first link.....Hello...UK is in!
So now, you don't have to use the second link.

Bee.
