Help With Sp4!!

So, I just installed Windows 2000 Professional SP4 on one computer. But when I restarted, the computer just kept on restarting soon after I kept on logging in! What do I do??!! And I didn't archive my files...

Try go into Safe Mode.

Even in safe mode, it restarts as soon as when I log in.

If checkdisk won't start in any other way I would do a hard shutdown just before restart.This however could be risky.Also make sure you set the error setting in the bios not to stop for any errors.I believe there may be corruption on the HDD.

Okay, I can't get into safe mode BUT I DO have the windows 2000 professional CD what do I do now?

SET YOUR BIOS TO BOOT OFF THE CD AS FIRST OPTION,CRIVE NEXT OPTION.PUT THE CD IN THE DRIVE AND START YOUR COMPUTER.THE COMPUTER SHOULD START BOOTING FROM THE CD.TYPE IN THE PRODUCT

I fixed it. But I had to wipe out everything by installing SP1 with my CD.

Odd thing is, the second time I tried installing SP4, it worked out perfectly

I Always Copy My Setup Disks To A Folder On The Hardrive.that Way
