Hi

I've followed all the instructions to move my personal folders file to a new
pc but I can't seem to get Outlook to deliver to that Inbox. Even though in
the New Delivery Location dialog box I select the correct Inbox, click ok and
restart Outlook, it hasn't worked. I know this because when I try to close
the new default personal folders file that I want to discard, the Close
option is greyed out. The close option of the old pst that I want to use as
default is active. Can some please help?

OK, an update on my problem. New emails ARE delivering to my old pst file
Inbox (which is what I want). But why can't I delete the empty Personal
Folders File Outlook created when I first set up my email account? As I said,
the Close option is not available.

Impossible to say until you tell us precisely how you migrated your data.
You did something wrong but we can't tell what until you tell us what you
did.

Hi Russ

This is what I did:
1 Copied my pst file from my old pc on to a memory stick
2 Copied into the default location of the new pc
3 Set up a new mail account on my new pc
4 Launched Outlook
5 Opened the old pst file (the one I want to keep using as my default on the
new pc)
6 Went to Tools, Account Settings and highlighted the newly created account
7 Hit the Change Folder tab & highlighted the Inbox of the old pst file
8 Then I selected New Outlook Data File and selected the type with the
bigger capacity
9 This opened up the directory where the pst files are kept by default
10 I chose the old pst file again from this location
11 Hit ok
12 closed the email accounts window and restarted outlook

As I said in my supplementary post, Emails do deliver to the correct (old)
pst file but I can't close the empty one Outlook created when I first
launched it. Can you see what I did wrong? And how can I correct it?
