Help with modem/fax set up...

Please help with dialing rules..

Where and how do I set up the fax and modem (either under
Phone/Modem or Printers/Fax...)

I want it to dial a '1' before the area code- local and long distance. It
is
not dialing the '1'... where can I set this udner XP... thank you!

Control Panel|PHONE & MODEMS|DIALING RULES tab|EDIT
or just preface the # with a 1.

Go to networking in control panel amd set up a new
internet connection. Put the entire number you want to
call in the one box. Don't use the area code box at
all. make it 1xxxxxxx and see if that will work. It may
even ask you about dialing a 1 to get long distance.
