Help with Media Center - monitor goes black

Hi folks,

I have just bought a new home PC running XP Media Center Edition on a
Pentium dual 2797Mhz and an Intel Graphics Media Acelerator 3000. The monitor
is an Acer 22" flat screen. My problem is:

when I start the Media Center Application the screen goes black. I have to
press the start key to actually see the Media Centre starting page on the
screen. If I press an option within the Media Centre the screen goes blach
again. And again I have to press the start key in order to see something.

Thanks foe any suggestions you may have.
