I keep getting emails in Outlook Express about returned
emails from addresses that I never sent mail to. I posted
twice on this group to try and get help, but whever I try
to browse thru the list to see my post, it keeps giving me
the message "newsgroups not available" after I reach a
certain page. I'm afraid that I may have some kind of
email bug or something that is sending emails and that is
why I keep getting error returned messages. Can someone
please help me out?

Sounds like you have the SOBIG virus. Update your virus definitions and do
a virus scan.

It's someone elses machine that had (or has) a virus. Just do a virus scan
with an up-to-date AV prog just to be sure.

You can get over the "Page Unavailable" error by using Outlook Express as
your newsreader.

Try here:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=171164&product=oex

You're not infected. Someone with your e-mail address in their address book
is infected. The latest viruses use an e-mail address in the infected
computers address book as the From: portion of the e-mail so the warning
about a virus or undeliverable's go to the wrong person. This is an attempt
to keep the infected systems infected longer as they don't receive the
warning like they used to.

The other thing is, mask your e-mail address. Use something liek
(e-mail address removed), anyone trying to send a direct e-mail to
you can see what needs to be removed, but the automatic bots on the internet
that scan newsgroups collecting e-mail addresses will get a false address.

Also, set up Outlook Express to connect to the newsgroups. It's a lot
better than using a web based newsreader and you can flag your messages so
you can always locate them. The server is msnews.microsoft.com or use your
isp news server which would probably be news.verizon.net.
