Help with duplicate Windows XP installed on system

I just recently formatted my computer and now I see that my Windows XP Home
Edition seems to be installed twice. Everytime I start my computer it asks me
to select one of the Windows XP Home Edition operating systems listed. I
believe that this caused my computer to start up slow. How do I remove the
duplicate operating system?

Hi Kptr2,
Before deleting anything what OS Line work for you better and have the most
stable structure!.
Write down the Line number and then boot with the one you want to keep.
Then when the OS loaded Right Click My Computer and Go to Advanced Tab and
there select Start Up and Recovery Button and from there you can Edit the
Boot.ini File in the Notepad.
When be sure the line you want to delete is deleted close to confirm your
Settings and changes.
Then go to the Command RUN and type in this:
msnconfig and Click OK
On Boot.ini Tab click on all Paths and see if the Boot.ini file have one
OS line in it if the other line exist there delete it and Save your changes.
Reboot and see if the Dual boot screen gone away.
Hope this helps

MSCONFIG, not MSNCONFIG.
