HELP!: what setting could

prevent all nt4 machines from being able to log into a 2000 active directory
domain?

"the system cannot log you on to this domain because the system's computer
account in its primary domain is missing or the password on that account is
incorrect"

even after deleting the computer account, dis-joining and then rejoining the
domain nt4 still cannot log in.

I recently set the 'no access without explicit anonymous permissions' option
in domain group policy. (a few days ago) Did not reboot server until today
and then no NT4 boxes could log in. I changed the setting back to 'not
defined' and rebooted server agian but it did not help.

what other setting could I have changed and don't remember that didn't take
effect until after a reboot that would make all NT4 boxes not able to login
with the error stated above.???

aaahhhh!

I don't think I changed that but I should check its current setting. What
'should' this be set to to support nt4 and later clients? (I believe the GPO
setting is at its default 'send LM and NTLM responses' but I will double
check)

what a minute. do nt4 clients pick up active directory domain policies?
(GPO's) my memory is fuzzy there for some reason.
