After Joining the domain, domain name is not listed in logon box

Please any body know the reason why a windows 2000
professional laptop joined to a NT4 domain did not display
the domain name after reboot to log on to the new domain?
It still had a list of all the other domains it had either
a trust with or it had previously logged on to except the
new one.

The access rights need to include the system.
Check the permissions on this file %SystemRoot%\System32\Config\Netlogon.ftl
make sure system and administrators have full control.

To resolve this issue, use Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe) to delete the
DCache and DCacheUpdate values in the following registry key and then
restart your computer:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
