I have a win 2000 server running AD. When i join a
workstation to the domain all the programs that were
installed on the workstation are no longer accessible.
They are logging in with the same username and password as
before joining the domain.
after joining the domain I click on My computer and get
c:\ is not accessible access is denied

Are they logging on with a local or domain account? If they are logging on with
a domain account then either that domain account is not in the same local groups
on the computer as the account they used to logon before or they are subject to
Group Policy restrictions for drive access as configured in a GPO under user
configuration/administrative templates/Windows components/Windows Explorer. You
can run gpresult while logged on as a user to see what user policies are being
applied to that user and from what GPO's.

If they are still logging on with a local account, then possibly they were
members of the local administrators group and have been removed as the result of
"restricted groups" enforcing the membership of the local administrators group
via Group Policy computer configuration that would probably be configured at the
OU level where the computer account is located. --- Steve
