help--updates crashed my computer, now what?

Hi there,

This morning when the bubble popped up reminding me there
were security updates to Windows 2000 Professional, I
actually felt guilty enough to click on them, download
the updates, and restart my computer like a good doo-bee.
What a mistake--now I can't get past the ctrl-alt-delete
prompt and I'm on a deadline.

Any advice much appreciated!

- When the operating system begins loading, press F8 repeatedly until a menu
appears, then choose "Last Known Good Configuration." This should allow you
to access the system and begin un-making the changes.

- microsoft.public.win2000.general would be a much better place for this
question

- There's nothing wrong with being a good doo-bee. The world needs more
good doo-bees. I could use a good doo-bee myself :)
