Hi I recently installed windows xp on my computer but have decided to go back
to windows me, but i cant do this, it says not enough room. I have tried to
uninstall xp but it is not in the add/remove programs, and when trying to
remove by using command prompts it says that registry files are not there. Id
like to wipe the whole drive and start over. I used to know how to do this
but I cant remember how to now so can someone please help, thanks. (it says
its partitioned on 908 Mb and I know thats wrong).

Thank you
Lori

If "Uninstall Windows XP" is not in the list of installed programs,
you must manually reinstall Windows. If this the case, make
sure to back up all of your critical data before you reinstall Windows.

How to Use the Fdisk Tool and the Format Tool to Partition or Repartition a Hard
Disk

1. Delete the Windows XP partition.
2. Create a new partition.
3. Format the new partition FAT32.
4. Install your desired Operating System

cd.
Thanks
Lori

Are you saying you do not have a Windows ME CD?

The normal way to "uninstall" any operating system is to format
the hard drive and install a new OS of your choice.

Only if you performed an upgrade from Win98/Me, elected to backup
the old system files, and didn't convert the partition to NTFS, can
you then boot into Safe Mode and click Start > Control Panel
Add/Remove Programs. All of these conditions must be met for the
uninstall option to be available.

I have the system restore(win me on it somewhere) cd's no win me cd.

Then just boot the PC from that Restore CD, and it should do everything
automatically. If it doesn't, contact the computer's manufacturer for
assistance.
