In Help and Support, when go to Index, just get that
squareX box it top-left corner. Have tried various H/S
fixes on various XP sites to no avail. Using XP Pro with SP2.
Can't use System Restore as don't know when problem started
as hadn't used Help/Support until now. Recently did clean install
and don't wish to redo. Any other ideas appreciated.

Don't know why, but Index in Help & Support ok when uninstalled
one of the high priority updates that was in Add/Remove before had
installed SP2. Reinstalled the one had removed and H/S still okay.
As mentioned above, all of the fixes had seen in MS Knowledge Base
and other XP sites didn't work but above did. Just thought I'd pass
on my own experience in resolving this issue.
 
Thanks, which update was it? If you decide to reinstall it, see if this
help and keep us posted:

Go to Start/Run and type in each:

regsvr32 /u C:\Winnt\System32\hhctrl.ocx
regsvr32 C:\Winnt\System32\hhctrl.ocx

Note: C:\Windows or C:\Winnt depending on your setup.
