Help recovering outlook

Charles

My XP install got trashed and I installed XP on another drive in the
same machine. So I have access to all my old files, but I can't run
the old outlook. I have outlook installed on the new drive and ready
to go, but I can't even find a directory on the old drive that looks
promising. Can someone please help me figure out the least painful way
to bring over all my old accounts and E-mail?

Thanks. I finally found my .pst (it was hidden). But I guess I was
really hoping to not only import my data, but also my account settings.
I have about 5-6 accounts and a bunch of rules. If I could save myself
the pain of figuring that all out again, it would be great.

if you are using Outlook 2003 then you can save all your account
settings/rules by using the Microsoft office Save My Settings Tool. Find it
under Start-All Programs-Microsoft Office-Microsoft Office Tools.

Alas, I didn't know to do this previously. Is there any hope of
manually getting my old Outlook settings? I have the old hard drive in
my machine, but I can't run anything. One would think that some files
could be copied over or something...

If you can't use the Save My Settings wizard between two hard drives on the
same machine (I'm not sure), then you may be out of luck, because Outlook
stores account information in the Windows registry, not in a file.
