Help -- Outlook 2000 SMTP problems (Internet mode)

J

John Aldrich

One of my users messed up her Outlook by trying to send an email to a
mal-formed email address, i.e. john@smith and jones.tld insted of
(e-mail address removed). Now, whenever she right-clicks on a file and
tries to send it as an attachment via email, Outlook gives her an
error about trying to send to a malformed email address in the details
of the error message, but if you switch tabs on the dialog window, it
says outlook failed sending 25 messages.

None of the messages appear in the Outbox and I can't figure out how
to clear this. I've already created a new PST file, I've already run
the "outlook.exe /cleanprofile" and outlook.exe /safe and none of
these commands has worked. Is there somewhere to find the "stuck"
messages and delete them?

HELP!!!

Also try the MDBVU32.exe file from Microsoft which should allow you to see
any stuck emails.

Is she trying to send the files to john@smithandjones or does it happen with
every file she tries to send, no matter who she is sending them to?

If the bad address comes up when she addressed the message to
john@smithandjones, she needs to delete it.
