For some weird reason my pc keeps hanging on me...this is the most annoying thing

im not sure at all about the cause, but viruses are a big contender, even though scan my drives every day
the lock ups are completey random, coming when i least expect them and when i do

maybe some of you know, but in the mcafee website, there is a pop-up that checks your computer security..etc
and it attempts to open your cd drives from the net

Mine opened,so i updated my firewall..et

Then the pc crashed

When i booted up again,my cd drives in My Computer were nowhere to be found

I checked the hardwre profile in the Control Panel(Control Panel\\System
There were yellow excamation marks nect to the cd drives names
So,i checked the properties and here is an excerpt

"Windows successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware but cannot find the hardware device. (Code 41)

Please help

PS....My drives are really cd/dvd drives

Not sure if this is the same problem, but my sister's PC was having
very similar problem several months ago. She had Roxio EZ CD Creator
Platinum installed on it. It seems that, on her machine, somethin
(virus, adware, malware...) corrupted her Roxio installation. W
reinstalled it and she was good to go.

If you have CD burning software, especially Roxio, try reinstalling it
Not much to lose and much to gain. That software has all the driver
for the Cd's anyway...

I hope that helps, I tried anyway. :)
