Help!! My Internet Explorer is driving me crazy

M

Merle Corey

My brother did something to my internet explorer, Now
everytime I try to get on the internet, I get an error
and it shut's down. I've tried loading a new internet
explorer, but it says there is already a newer version on
my computer and it won't continue. There is no way to
delete windows explorer and I can't find my XP disk to
reload the windows components. Am I doomed to go buy a
new Windows perating system? If you can help please post
a reply or send me an e-mail @ (e-mail address removed)

Sounds like the Blaster worm, or a variant, is the NT authority
closing down internet explorer? search your hard drive
for msblast.exe. I you find it delete it.

Update your Antivirus software .

Just open up the Control Panel > Add Remove Programs and click on Internet
Explorer and then click on UNINSTALL . When it starts you should see a box
come up. Choose the following " REPAIR " and click on OK . It will now
reinstall or fix Internet Explorer for you and it should work.

What error? The more details you give us, the more likely we can come
up with a solution.
I've tried loading a new internet

And it's right. You don't want to downgrade IE. You can try a
different browser if you like, check
http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/ for Mozilla Firefox. (You may
even like it better than IE!)

Unlikely, but it would be a very good idea to find that WinXP CD.

No, that's not the way it works. You post it here, you read it here
and all benefit.
