Help me please!

This is REALLY irking me! My dad's computer is a Dell running XP with
IE7.about 1 year old. It has Windows Defender running, but somehow
malware/spyware got in there anyway. It had gotten to the point where it
would ONLY boot in safe mode, and it took about one hour to do that! Well I
corrected that with Combofix...and the computer is running fast again. But
every time you go from one webpage to another...you get an ad page first! It
looks like this:

Insecure Internet activity. Threat of virus attack
Due to insecure Internet browsing your PC can easily get infected with
viruses, worms and trojans without your knowledge, and that can lead to
system slowdown, freezes and crashes.
Also insecure Internet activity can result in revealing your personal
information.
To get full advanced real-time protection for PC and Internet activity,
install an antivirus and antispyware software.
We recommend you to protect your PC now and continue safe Internet browsing.

Continue to this website unprotected (not recommended).

You can go to the 'not recommended link' and you will go to the page you
wanted to. I thought it might be *atfxqogp*, it's in the toolbar, but
Combofix says it quarantined it. So I am at a loss. Any ideas? Thanks.

Thats because your system is still compromised.
Try SpyBot & Adaware, both free, update & run both seperately
MS Defender is not IMO good enough on its own

The computer is still compromised.

If it was that infested with malware, the only way you can be absolutely
certain that you've got it all cleaned up is to do a hard disk format and a
clean install of XP.

If the computer has a broadband internet connection then it needs to be
behind a NAT router. After the format/reinstall, dowload Super-AnitSpyware
and run it on a regular basis.
