Help! Internet Explorer Stopping Install

D

Derek

I've been trying to install the spyware but when i try
and download it, it says that Internet Explorer won't let
it happen because there isn't a signature or something?

We get sporadic reports of this kind, and I've never managed to pin them
down.

Keep trying. If you have any way to attempt the download via a different
ISP, please try that. I believe this is an issue with the integrity of the
download.

I suppose that's no mirror for MSAS
maybe the original poster could get his pals to mail him a copy

Have you tried posting your problems
not related to MS AntiSpyware to
news://msnews.microsoft.com

and please don't bother to send me private mail
because I don't check my mailbox regularly

Open IE. Go to TOOLS/INTERNET OPTIONS and then the ADVANCED Tab

Scroll down to the SECURITY settings and uncheck some of the more
restrictive boxes for that download. You may have to set your Security
level (one of the Tabs when U first get into INTERNET OPTIONS, to the
DEFAULT level, by clicking that button. Reverse back what you changed when
you have finished

The Microsoft distribution system maintains copies worldwide. I doubt that
this is an issue with the copy on their servers.

I think more likely this is a bad copy in an ISP's cache.

Why would you think that Microsoft Antispyware would require users to lower
their security settings to accomplish the download?

(at any rate--this isn't the case. the download is properly signed, but a
corrupted download won't look that way--that's one of the things that
signing accomplishes.)

I doubt's any ISP would mirror MSAS
additional download = additional support = additonal cost
:)

P/s you know how tech support works in ISPs'? they $uck$

Some ISP's run a cache--it cuts their bandwidth costs.

I agree about the support issue, by and large. That's why I didn't suggest
calling them.
