Instead of just reformatting my C: drive (NTFS), I deleted the partition
(using a Win 98 startup diskette - FDisk --> Delete non Dos partition).
Immediately after that, my D: drive which contains my backups became the
new C Drive (which wasn't the idea).
I couldn't create a new Primary Partition because it wasn't possible and
could only create an Extended Partition.
I have tried to install XP Pro again but it does its installation on the
now created new D drive (naturally because that is where all the free space
now is) and with the Backup drive (formerly D) now as the C: drive.
I am trying to reverse the situation but XP wont allow the change of the
drive letters to be effected because the two drives now contain
SystemVolumes + PageFiles + SystemFiles on D and Boot Files on C.
How do I work around this?
I can't delete the new C drive because it contains my Backups and will like
to have it back as D.
All advise appreciated with thanks.
