Hi Jim,

Thanks for the suggestions, many of which I had tried
allready, but to no avail. I am using Windows ME so some
of the fixes and their steps do not apply, for
instance.....

"Clear the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) slate and
AutoComplete history:

In Internet Explorer, on the Tools menu, click Internet
Options, and select the Content tab
Under Certificates, click Clear SSL State
Click OK when you receive the message that the SSL cache
was successfully cleared
Under Personal information, click AutoComplete
Under Clear AutoComplete history, click Clear Forms. Click
OK when you are prompted to confirm the operation"

There is no Clear SSL State on my computor.

If you can think of anything else, I would appreciate the
help..........Brian

I unistalled Norton Internet Security (NIS) and all is
AOK. Thank you for your input, do you think it wise to
reinstal NIS.

Hi Brian - Glad you found out what was happening. As to NIS - Symantec
stuff is notoriously difficult to uninstall completely (as well as being a
major source of difficulty for other programs, particularly system stuff, as
you've found out). If your NIS is 2003 NOT 2004, I would recommend going
here and doing everything here EXCEPT Step 5. :)
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/nip.nsf/docid/2001090510510636 I
personally don't allow anything by Symantec on any of my machines except for
testing, and I use Total Uninstall for that:
http://www.geocities.com/ggmartau/projects/projects.html (FWIW, this is
an indispensable utility to have around if you ever have occastion to
install problematic/trial/Symantec software. It's the only way I know of to
completely remove some Symantec software, for example, which is mandatory
for me, since I don't allow it on my machines except for testing, and I
would otherwise be unable to test it.)
