Favorites Work, Typing in Address Bar Gives Error

I have what I think is an interesting problem. All of my favorites work.
For Example, I can go to my bank's website through the favorites and navigate
the entire site. I cannot get to ANY sites by typing them into the address
bar. I don't think it is virus related or anything like that. I thought it
might be Norton Internet Security, but disabling that doesn't make a
difference either. I am out of ideas. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

I think I have fixed this before by going to Tools -> Internet Options ->
Advanced, then unchecking the box "Enable third-party browser extensions".
Then close all open IE sessions and open one up again and test. This
happened to one of my clients when his Yahoo toolbar was corrupt.
