Help! I cannot burn CDs or DVDs with my NEC ND-4551A under Vista

I have a problem with my NEC ND-4551A (in a Fujitsu Siemens SCALEO P) in
that, no matter what burning software I try, I cannot burn CDs or DVDs. It
used to work fine under XP. I'm using Vista Home Premium upgrade. I searched
the NEC & Fujitsu Siemens sites for a new driver, but both state it uses
native drivers. I have uninstalled & reinstalled the hardware to no avail. I
have also tried the registry fix to remove the Lower & Upper limit (as
suggested on many other forums when the DVD stops working), but still no joy.
A Nero 7 CD burning log shows the following at the point where it begins to
collapse: -
