I have an external firewire hard drive and want to backup
hard drive C: to the external hard drive. Was simple on
W2000.

However, on XP when I right mouse click and select the C:
drive and do properties then Tools, there is no backup
dialog box!!!

Wheres the backup tools??

Thanks.

Goto Start / Run / Type : ntbackup.exe

Its In Your Windows/systen32 folder :)

Have Fun !

You have to install it:

If you have a rescue disk the valueadded folder may be on
it or your XP Disk, Mine was on disk #2

Insert the XP or Rescue CD, and run NTBACKUP.MSI program
from the folder D:\valueadd\msft\ntbackup

You can get a copy here;

In XP Home the ASR Floppy Disk does not work . It will NOT
backup to a CD. You can back up to a folder on your
hard drive then burn it to a CD. The native program in XP
will not span CD's though.

Here is how to use it;
