Is there any way of changing the settings of XP's internal Wavetable MIDI
synth? I'm particularly interested in reducing the latency. TIA.

Errr. The sound card is the virtual one that comes with XP as explained in

If you seriously want to reduce the latency of your MIDI synth, I suggest
you invest in a proper *hardware* MIDI synth, say Yamaha XG
