Help getting sound to work...

Hi there,

I have no sound at all. Havent had any since ive installed Vista ultimate
x64. What happens is the device for my creative audigy 2 says its working.
But when i press play on any player, the player wont play the file. This was
after teh creative update. Before the update the players would play the files
like they should, but no sound was coming out.

I tried my onboard audio (realtek ac7) and i still got nothing. So i just
disabled it. After trying on the creative boards i decided to try here
because it isnt a driver specific problem.

I have checked all the options, all the sound is up, nothing is muted.
Everything is plugged in correctly.

Any Ideas?

Here is my device list.
Mobo: GIGABYTE GA-K8NE Socket 754 NVIDIA nForce4 4X ATX AMD
Proce: AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Newcastle 2.0GHz Socket 754 Processor
Ram: CORSAIR ValueSelect 1GB 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200)
Video: POWERCOLOR X1950 PRO Extreme 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16
Sound: Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 SB0244 6.1 ATA
Hard Drives: 80 Gig Western Digital, 160 gig SATA

Thanks

I had trouble with sound from outside my pc when I got my new pc with vista
already installed. I could play a cd in the drive, but could not connect to
yahoo music or any radio station. I disabled the Windows firewall and it
worked fine. I don't know if this is safe though. My McAfee was running the
whole time so I don't know. My two cents....
