Took the plunge and installed Vista today in a dual boot with XP Pro.

Must admit after reading thru this group I was expecting a lot more
problems. However the install went almost flawless.

Only had 2 problems. Both were device drivers.

1.) Creative Audigy MP3+ sound card not recognized on first boot.
Installed the latest Audigy Drivers from Creative though and
sound then was working perfectly.

2.) Did not detect my Linksys Network card.
Told it to search the area where I had my XP drivers package
stored for this device. Found the device then and installed it with
no problems apparently using the XP drivers. Connected to my cable
ISP then with no problems at all.

Was worried about my ATI video card (9800) after reading some problem
posts here on ATI cards. Vista installed it just fine and came up with
Aero already chosen and working.

Of course I have some programs that will not install which I already
knew from reading posts here. Like for one..Zone Alarm Pro.

But overall it is working great so far.

System is an AMD Athlon XP 2500
Gigabyte GA-7VAX motherboard
1.5 GIG of memory
4 Hard drives
CD-RW
DVD-RW
ATI Radeon 9800 256 MB Vid card
SB Audigy MP3+
