Creative Driver

R

RonK

I have installed the Creative drivers from the Creative website and I cannot
get any sound.

I have tried the Creative Beta driver but Vista will not allow the unsighned
drivers and stops the installation.

Is there a way to get Vista to allow the beta driver ?
The sound card is an Audigy 2.

Thanks

I have an Audigy 2 and the beta drivers work fine for me... not sure what to
tell you... have you run the setup/install EXE file as administrator?

Just went and checked, and my drivers are unsigned, so my guess would be,
because I don't remember what I did to get the drivers to install, is that
you have to right click on the SBAXVSD_"yadda_yadda_yadda".exe file and
click on Run As Administrator.

The right-click, run as administrator, did not work for me.

Vista warned me the drivers were unsigned but gave me the option to
install them anyway. They work just fine on my system.

We never got around to which build you're using...

Just installed 5744 on a PC with an Audigy 2 card. Installed the beta
software from the Creative site, got a few error dlg's after reboot, which I
just OK'd through, and sound is working fine on that PC. Didn't even use
"Run As Administrator" to install... just regular user, well... regular user
of local admin group...
