Robert

I had some kind of error occur and now a number of files are locked so I
can't copy or use them. When I try, I get a message saying the disk is full
or they are in use even though they are not.

The same problem occurs in safe mode.

How can I copy them to another drive/location?

Hi Robert,

Click start/run, type cmd and click ok. From the prompt run "chkdsk C: /r"
(without the quotes). You won't be able to run this in normal mode, but
follow the prompts to schedule it to occur when the system reboots. Then
exit and restart the system. See if this then allows you to get access to
the files.

Thanks, but I tried this and it took about an hour and a half. After it
completed, the problem is still there, no change...

Any other ideas?

Robert.
