I copied some jpg's from a cd to my hard drive last night and I viewed all
the pics after they were copied to my hard drive. Today I went to view the
pics and only about 8 out of 100 are now viewable. Even jpg's that were in
that folder previous to last night are now unreadable. They all have the
correct file size and name but are unreadable for some reason.

Any ideas?

Thank You

Kevin

What do you mean by unreadable ? Is there a error message ? The picture is
not displaying as it should be ? You tried to open them with different viewer
?
And next time multipost your problem, posting same question two times is
just wastage of time.

Kevin,

When you were able to view them all, was the CD still in the PC? Did it just
copy 8 images over, the rest merely shortcuts?

When I double click on the file, windows picture and fax viewer says "no
preview available". When I try to open the file with roxio photosuite 7 I
get the message "cant open file". When I try to open the jpg with internet
explorer, all I get is a small box with a red X in it. When I try to open
the jpg with iPhoto Plus, I get the message "unable to open {filename}
Unknown file format. [270:5:4]". Also it also does not say the resolution
of the picture in windows explorer the way it does for the pictures I can
actually view.

Sorry if I offended anyone. I was just hoping to increase my chances of
getting help.

Thank You very much for taking the time to consider my problem.

I removed the CD and was able to view them all off of my hard drive. I did
have hide folders xp running and unlocked at the time but this folder is not
a folder that I hide with hide folders xp.
