I wrote earlier....

I know this sounds like a pretty simple question. But I would like to know
how to add a program to the startup so that they will launch automatically
at startup/power on.

and got the reply
just put a shortcut to the program in the Start>Programs>Startup folder

That's great... but how do I do that?

Click Start, point to All Programs and double-click Startup. A Explorer window will open, simply copy and paste to that location the file you want and restart Windows.

Note: If you want to start any program(s) for all users, paste the file or files to this other path:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

(If "C" is your drive letter.)

In the interest of helping you help yourself, Please go to Start, Help
and Support, and enter the search term "Startup Programs" one of the
links will give you directions for doing what you ask.
