Headset w/Microphone

I'm looking at purchasing a Headset & Microphone (boom type) combination but
not sure how it works. This connects using a USB, instead of the typical
Mic. & Spk connection (that usually goes in the back of the computer).

I'm run Windows XP & 2000 and was wondering how the USB connection makes
this possible. I don't want to purchase it then find out that the USB
connection doesn't work correctly.

Open the package carefully. Save your receipt. Try it. If it doesn't
work, put it back in the package and take it and the receipt back to the
store and return it for a refund.

as with most usb devices there will be software to install
that will make the device function.

USB is a general bi directional interface, there would be no difficulty
making a head set to work through it. The headset will come with the
needed drivers and instructions
