haunted Cd Rom Drive

My cd rom driver..CDRW..32x10x40..keeps opening and closing on its own,
without any prompts or commands, i even went in and disabled it, but alas
continues to do so..Help!!is it haunted....

Hi:

It looks like a mechanical problem. Do you have the chance to test another
CD unit or the same unit in another computer?

If it does it while you are in the BIOS, then it is Hardware problem and
you should replace it.
