Why has there not been a new version of FrontPage? Has it been discontinued?

Why has there not been a new version of FrontPage? Has it been

discontinued?

There is apparently a super-duper new program that will replace FP
(currently in testing), but just asking such a question is interesting. Many
would get on Microsoft's case for producing buggy code requiring frequent
updates and new versions which might fix the old problems but introduce new
ones. But FP, on the other hand, appears to demonstrate a level of maturity
(in terms of not having too many glitches) and function (it generally does
what we'd want it to do) that doesn't leave us hanging. Which would seem
like a good thing. But because it doesn't follow the normal Microsoft
patten, we suspect bad things.

FrontPage has been discontinued for general usage David. It is being
rebranded for the specific use with the Windows SharePoint Services that run
on Windows servers.

There will be a new choice for general web design and development called
Expression Web Developer.
