Hardware compatability

I was running Windows 98 and was using a HP ScanJet 4300C
as a scanner. This was working very well. Then when I
loaded Windows XP Home Edition I am getting a message
that this is incompattable with Windows XP.

Is this a driver problem? If so can I download a driver
that will make my scanner operable with my new system.

Please let me know how to proceed....and I hope it isn't
buying a new scanner...

Read the Description of each one and decide which may be the more
appropriate one to install.
