Hard drive problem

Don Madsen

My system has a secondary hard drive, which I don't access very often and I
just discovered that its partitions are not visible in Windows explorer. It
is seen by the BIOS and Windows XP Disk Management sees it as an unformatted
drive. I have no idea how or when the problem started. While I have backups
for the main drive, there is not one for the problem drive. Is there any way
to recover the files on it?. Don

I've had success fixing lost partitions on a drive using Knoppix. You can
download it from ...

"unformatted" or unallocated?

Assuming there is nothing physically wrong, these might be of use:
