hanging welcome screen

In the last few days, my pc has been hanging on the
welcome screen for around 4 minutes. I have looked at
other forums who have suggested virus, spyware. trojans
etc, but this is not the case. My pc seems to run
slightly slower yet all systems check out fine. I have
been told this could be a driver load error.
Since this began to happen, i also continue to get a
games web page open when ever it feels like it and
occasionaly my home page redirects itself. Have you seen
this problem before and can you help?

Colin, if you are getting a games web page opening and a redirection of
your home page then you have
a trojan, spyware or adware or all three. Check again. Use ALL of these
websites.
