Hang at logon?

On a WinXP SP1 PC in a Active Directory domain, we are seeing an excessively
long login time the first time a user logs in. The PC will appear to hang
at "Applying Personal Settings" for 1+ hours. Has anyone seen this? How
can I troubleshoot it?

Make sure the XP client is configured to use the DNS server that contains
the AD records for the domain. it should NOT be configured to use an ISP's
DNS server.
