Handouts using save as pdf always print out 5"x8"

No matter what settings I change, when I save handouts to pdf using
Microsoft's save as pdf function, the page size is ALWAYS 5 inches by 8
inches. How can I force it to standard letter size? I am HUGELY frustrated
with this.

Which version of PowerPoint are you using and what are the settings you
used?

I did not specify a version because as far as I know, only Office 2007
supports "safe as pdf". ANd I'm not sure what you mean by settings, but I did
go through View -> Handout Master -> Page Setup and selected "Slides sized
for: Letter Paper (8.5x11 in)" which did not seem to make any difference at
all.

If you have the full version of Acrobat on your system I do believe it
automatically sets up as a printer. That way any version of PowerPoint can
print to the Acrobat Printer which creates a PDF file

If your printing Handouts how many slides per page did you select? When you
select Print what do you select as your output in the "Print what" box?

I have no problem printing full page slides in 2007.
