hacked?

question for anyone who may know:

how do i know if i've been hacked?

i'm at work and surfing the web. all of the sudden a pop up window from the
toolbar area down by the LAN icon that reads something like:

Windows error, there are more than one ??instances?? of the same IP address.

or something like that. i'm always getting popup window mssgs that annoy me,
so i just clicked it off. but now i'm afraid i'm hacked in some way.

anyone have any ideas?

yes !!! you were hacked and probably you already lost every data stored in
that pc.
