Closing ports! Is my machine been hacked?

Hi, I got a windows xp pro with sp2 system. I put a trial version of
pccillin antivirus/firewall and find out that my system is tried to been
hacked almost everytime i am online (must be a common subject for all of
us). Anyway, eventhough this trendmicro firewall advises me that my computer
was tried to been hacked (it even gives me the ip of the attacker and my
attacked port), I still dont feel secure. I would like to close the ports
myself.

For instance, at this moment i open the command line and write netstat to
know the ports connected and by now I find the 1041 port marks an
established conection with an customerx.x.x.x.adsl.com (where x.x.x.x is the
ip shown). I am not using chat or IM programs and i would like to close that
1041 port. Could i do that with the command line? I just have the windows
firewall and this pccillin firewall.
thanks.

Go to this site http://scan.sygate.com/ and scan your firewall. It should
tell you which port is broadcasting and why. download (freeware) Spybot S&D
and than download the for personal use Sygate Firewall. It's a firewall with
protects in 'and' out. You might have spyware going out which XP SP1 firewall
would not protect you.

Many of the warnings relate to port scanners which are not representative of
your files being hacked.. a good full version software firewall will stealth
all ports by default.. run Adaware and Spybot occasionally to knock out
possible threats..
