have I been hacked ???

Have XP Pro along with Norton firewall/antivirus (2002 version which Symantec
no longer supports) and Spybot/Ad-Aware.

Awhile back, I was attacked by what appeared as something trying to 'break'
Norton which went 'nuts' with virus alerts and later became 'ratty' ... e.g.
XP startup hangs for 5 mins/MS reports NIS has to close down/system
file:cisvc.exe races 70% of CPU until I end the process.

Subsequently, not long after I access the Internet each day, NIS
alerts/blocks an incoming Back Orifice 2000 hack attack ... sometimes more
than once per day.

NAV/Spybot/Ad-Aware detect nothing.

I suspect I have been hacked (BO2) and on connecting to the internet my pc
alerts the hacker ...

NIS only blocks hack attacks for 30mins and most hackers know this ... short
of formatting/reinstalling I don't what to do ... any help appreciated.
