greek problem in internet explorer

MikeCris

I have Windows XP with Internet Explorer
6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.030422-1633 updated with all the
patches that exists.
I have a problem when i try to input greek inside a page,
for example a search engine ( google.com in.gr etc ) or
in a form that i have to complete. It shows character
as ;Β.΅¤¥˜TŸ >šž-"¦"£'-§¨©'œ.
I can input greek in the address bar normaly.
I check the encoding but no luck.
I also check the internet option->fonts and languages but
no luck either.
What can i do to fix this problem. It is extremely
annoying.
Thank you in advance!

Calispera !

There are two differnet things:
1. To be able to display Greek webpages: This is done
through the "encoding", as click view, encoding, etcetera.
2. If you want to be able to type Greek characters into
Internet Explorer (or any other windows program, you have
to add the Greek language in your settings in the control
panel. Go to the control panel, select Regional and
Language options/languages/details.
Click "ADD" and follow the prompts from here.
Be aware that you most likely have an English keyboard
layout that will not correspond with the Greek alphabet...
I have the same issue with Russian Cyrillic and had to
order a keyboard overlay (little stickers)...
Still I hope the information will be helpfull.
Yassu,
JR

He wrote that he did that.

He wrote that he did that, too - he can type Greek in
other places.

Most people do it differently (especially ones who are at
work at thus cannot use stickers) - instead of looking for each
letter in a standard Russian layout, they use another
layout file - with phonetic (homophonic) layout -
they get Russian 'A' by pressing 'A', 'O'-'O', etc.
It's covered in the Russian Keyboard section of my site.
