Internet Explorer Script Error

E

Esther Leung

Hi, I have recently installed Windows Xp Professional onto my computer and
after a series of downloads to get started my Internet Explorer started
popping up the following error message:

Internet Explorer Script Error

! An error has occured in the script on this page
Line: 2
Char: 7
Error: Invalid character
Code: 0
URL: (the url I happened to be in...) http://web.icq.com/

Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?
Yes No

Regardless which button I would press the message would continue to reappear
at least 2 more times whereupon it would then dissapear and I would be able
to resume surfing as usual. I have tried to disabled both script debugging
and notification of script errors on my explorer however the problem still
persists. I have downloaded a series of programs to check for worms,
trojans, viruses etc. to no avail and I have also updated the latest
scripting device from microsoft, however the problem is still here. I have
searched the internet for fixes to this problem and I am at a loss. I am
currently using IE 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.030422-1633 which came with my xp.
HELP PLEASE!!!

Common script errors messages can be eliminated by Clicking:
Menu: Tools - Internet Options - Advanced tab.
Check "Disable script debugging"
Uncheck "Display a notification about every script error"
